About Isabelle

I completed my undergrad at McMaster University in the iBioMed co-op program, obtaining a degree in biomedical engineering and chemical engineering. During my time at Mac I worked on optimizing hydrogels for bioprinting and electrospinning applications, which sparked my passion for biomaterials and research. In the Maikawa Lab, I look forward to conducting research in biomaterials, biosensing, and drug delivery; I’m especially interested in applying exciting new research in these fields to women’s health issues. Outside of the lab I’m a yoga instructor and I love to cook, garden, take spin classes, do crafts, and make new friends to explore Toronto with!
